As we were discussing Veteran’s Day, my 19 yo son began trying to sing the theme songs of all the branches of the military. He had learned them last year in choir class. As he, along with the rest of us, was stumped on the Coast Guard song, he searched for it on his phone. As it played, I heard the Latin phrase
Semper Paratus. My online Latin class just learned Vocabulary D, with the verb
paro, parare, paravi, paratum.
Semper means
always in Latin, so what does
Semper Paratus mean? Any guesses, Latin discipuli?
