Catherine Drown has been involved in teaching and writing since the early nineties when in the course of homeschooling her children she sought to develop her own Latin Curriculum. Since then, she has developed and written over 1,000 pages of Latin Curriculum (BigBook 1 & BigBook 2) that is used by many homeschooling families and charter schools all over America and across different parts of the world.
She keeps a very demanding schedule as teacher at a local charter school, facilitator for a home school based Thomas Jefferson Education leadership learning academy, teaching Latin in her home and writing the Big Books and other associated curricula.
She is extremely knowledgeable in Latin, Ancient History and the Humanities. These areas are her passions and she has a voracious drive to bring these subjects to life for her students in a way that integrates the concomitant developments of history, art, language, and culture so as to portray the integrated wholistic nature of knowledge and learning.
She has been a conference speaker at various homeschooling conferences and conventions and continues to write and develop curriculum.
Catherine founded LivelyLatin in order to assist families in their effort to teach their children the Latin Language in a manner that is affordable, fresh, lively and engaging. She also developed Magistra753BC.com in order to to continue bringing her work to interested learners and to encourage and support them in their learning journey!
